Private Loft Renovation
Tribeca, New York City
Designed
for a newspaper editor, an artist, and their two young children, this
3,000 SF residential loft was created in a landmark building in lower
Manhattan. A series of architectural interventions apply color, texture and
light, dematerializing kitchen, bathroom, and closet volumes and promoting
spatial interplay. Amber glass
panels, pigmented plaster, colored wood stains and glass mosaic tiles
bring richness and depth to prominent surfaces.
Operable rice paper acrylic screens alternately provide privacy or
permit vistas.
