William J Conklin, FAIA

1923-2018

William Conklin was senior principal in the firm of Conklin Costantin Architects, having formed the predecessor firm of Conklin Rossant Architects in 1967. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Doane College, and a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Bill had a wide range of experience in the fields of architecture, planning and urban design. In addition, he served as President of the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and as Vice Chairman of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. He was a Research Associate of the Institute for Andean Studies, and an Adjunct Professor of Architecture and Historic Preservation at Columbia University. Under Bill's guidance the firm and its predecessors received more than fifty awards for their work in the fields of architectural design, urban design, and planning.
