About Us

The Mission

Conklin Costantin Architects LLP is a diversified design firm navigating technology and aesthetics in search of essential solutions. Our work embraces many aspects of the built environment including new towns, new and revitalized buildings, interiors and furnishings. We hold that close communication between client and architect throughout the design process is vital to realizing a work of quality.

The Firm

CCA is guided by Michael Costantin, and is a successor firm to Conklin Rossant Architects, which was established in 1967. We offer a full range of professional services from programming through design and construction, and have developed keen relationships with allies in engineering, lighting, AV design, high performance construction, and real estate, affording the client an integrated range of expertise and “turn-key” service. The highly experienced CCA office includes staff with backgrounds in civic institutions, educational facilities, housing, commercial offices, retail design, transportation facilities, historic rehabilitation, and master planning. CCA has been published and awarded extensively for its outstanding service to clients that include public agencies, professional corporations, retail businesses, commercial and residential developers, cultural and educational institutions, and private individuals.

Michael Costantin, principal, earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree, Cum laude, from Syracuse University School of Architecture, and completed diploma studies at the Architectural Association of London, before first entering the offices of Conklin Rossant in the early 80's. There he gained extensive early experience in the design and development of large scale civic projects, such as the Brooklyn Borough Hall renovation and the United States Navy Memorial at Market Square, Washington, DC. After receiving his architecture license Michael relocated to the office of Giancarlo De Carlo in Milan, Italy, where he was involved in a range of urban/architectural projects, especially in the medieval hill town of Urbino, including the conversion of a medieval convent complex into the new University of Urbino School of Economy at Battiferri. After returning to New York and establishing his own firm, working on diverse residential and retail projects, Michael joined with William Conklin to form the present firm, Conklin Costantin Architects LLP, and became involved in a variety of public and institutional projects, from numerous renovation works at Fordham University to the development of the MTA’s new Public Board Room Facility.
