CSI Sports & Recreation Facility

This new City University of New York (CUNY) gymnasium was built by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York. The exterior form reflects its importance as a terminus for the college’s axial plan with a pair of brickwork towers set into a solid, symmetrical face. Spaces within are organized around a skylit 25-meter tiled pool with glass enclosed spectator gallery.  Other activities include a basketball court, teaching gym, racquetball courts, and a secluded daycare center. Natural light and transparency permeate the complex. This project was executed in collaboration with Lee Borrero Associates, Architects.
