Fordham University
The Fordham University Manhattan Campus at Lincoln Center is defined by various buildings, many of which date back to the early and mid 1960's. CCA has assisted Fordham U. in radically altering many of its aesthetically drab and technologically obsolete facilities to uplifting state of the art learning environments. Projects were analyzed on an individual basis to assess how an improvement budget might be distributed. Though technology was pivotal in driving programmatic needs, CCA always considers it in an enhanced spatial dynamic. The 18,500 square foot Graduate School of Social Service was transformed through use of a new palette of colors and materials. New custom lighting valences along the main corridor create an fresh uplifting experience. The administrative areas have been reorganized and given visual coherence through the introduction of state-of-the-art work stations and storage systems. New signage and artwork completes the transformation. At the Law School CCA has radically transformed static 1960's classrooms into dynamic state "smart" classrooms. Improvements include new tiered floors and higher ceilings, and advanced AV enhancements such as individual students' power and data receptacles, dimmable indirect/direct fluorescent lighting, and custom lecterns that, via touch screens, control light levels, window shades, motorized projection screens and the digital projectors. The rooms' AV racks are concealed in closets or cabinets.
